Testimonials

Little Weavers is run by Ruth, a qualified forest school leader with nine years experience working with children & families across a range of settings. She learnt her skill in basket making from her mother, a Herefordshire basket maker, who also grows most of the willow used in our workshops. Hatty (assistant) is a playworker, she also faciliates children's craft workshops & works wonders with face paint at childrens parties. Aimee (assistant) is an artist and keen creative whittler! She is inspired by nature and after a year living at Embercombe (land-based learning social enterprise) wants to encourage people's creativity and connection to nature.

At Little Weavers we value the forest school ethos of child-led learning that is inclusive, positive,  inspires natural curiosity and nurtures creativity. Our parent-child workshops provide an opportunity for positive interaction between children and their carers, whilst also learning a new pratical skill.

Little Weavers also offers workshops for adults wishing to learn basic skills of basket making. We also value the importance of practicing hands-on skills for both physical and mental health.
